| Why Transmanche Ferries & LD Lines? . . . | New Route for 2009 - Dover to Boulogne | |

LD Lines won the tender to operate the Transmanche Ferry Service from the UK port of Newhaven to the French port of Dieppe. Due to the nature of the tender the two companies operate seperatly. Although LD Lines did initially charter from Transmanche one of their ships during the summer for a single sailing each day between Newhaven and Le Havre, this was ceased in 2008 and for 2009 they will operate Dover to Dieppe instead. |
LD Lines are opening a new service between Dover and Boulogne in July 2009. Initially served by a single ship with up to four departures from each port per day, this could rise with the introduction of a second ship. Currently the mv Norman Spirit is earmarked for this service. |
